New Year's Resolution

Every year, lots of people make resolutions.  I do to, but most of the time, I forget what they were by March.  This year, I have two that I really want to work on.

The first one came to me over a few different events.  I want to stop worrying about what people think of me and concentrate on being the best Amber I can be.  Don't take it wrong, I am not saying that I won't care or think about other people.  I just want to be more confident in who I am and not change my mind based on trying to make other people happy.  I think that new confidence will help me in so many other ways.

This year, I really want to be in more control about what I eat.  Through slow changes, I want it to become natural to eat healthier.  I don't want the constant fight inside my head anymore.

Do you have resolutions?

  1. I love your first resolution! I have always been one to worry what other think of me, but I realize I am happiest when I don't care :-)

I am taking a different approach this year--I'm calling it 12 in 2012. I am focusing on 12 core values, one each month.

  3. I can really relate to the first one. I was thinking the exact same thing the other day!! People will think what they think. In the overall scheme of things does what they think their head have anything to do with my life? No. So why worry about it! It will be a lot easier said than done for me, but I'll be trying right along with you!
Good Luck in the New Year!

  4. Your resolutions sound wonderful. Here are my resolutions: http://yogi-mommy.blogspot.com/2011/12/new-years-resolutions-2012.html

Your first resolution reminded me of a post I wrote a while ago: Are We Our Worst Critic?: http://yogi-mommy.blogspot.com/2011/11/are-we-our-own-toughest-critics.html. I have been wondering if we as mom's are really harsh on ourselves. I do not think we give ourselves credit for all of the wonderful things we do very well. :)

I like the idea of focusing on eating better or eating healthier rather than losing weight. I have been working on that myself and it has lead me to eat more vegetables, fish, drink water and take vitamins. I feel like these changes will help me to feel better and prompt me to move forward with other goals!

  5. I like your resolutions, especially about freeing yourself from what other people think. It creeps back in, I have had this trouble, too. But our life is ours alone to live, being the best for our children, by feeling confident and happy. I like how many in the blogging community are choosing a word to define their year! This seems to be a good idea, a word to return to again and again throughout the year to inspire us.
